Invisalign

Invisalign are a set of aligners that gradually shift the teeth to their proper positions. The process is effective, seamless, and requires very little dental observation. You change your aligners yourself at home. When you eat and drink, you can perfectly remove them and put them back once you are done. As long as you keep them for the daily time intended, you should not have any issues at all.

How Does Invisalign Work? |

On your first visit to get your set of aligners, Dr. Ron Thompson will take photos and models of your teeth to send them to Invisalign labs. This is where your aligner will be manufactured. After several days, your dentist will call you in and give you the first set of Invisalign aligners.

You will wear your first set of aligners for 2 weeks, time after which you will put on the next set and so on. You should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours every day. Remove them to eat, drink, brush, and flush. After 6 weeks, you will be required by Dr. Thompson to check how your teeth are progressing.

Some important pointers about your Invisalign aligners.:

  • They are smooth and comfortable because they are custom-made.
  • The aligners are all you wear; no glue, no rubber bands, no head bands.
  • You can remove the aligners to eat, drink, brush, and flush.
  • You just have to remove them to brush your teeth, and put them back after.
  • You can easily clean them with a soft brush.

Benefits of Invisalign|

One of the best things about Invisalign is that they are clear and virtually invisible. So, nobody will ever notice that you are actually wearing orthodontics. Here are some other advantages of using Invisalign:

  • Comfort

The Invisalign trays are made of a flexible clear plastic. There are no sharp edges or tips that might damage your gums and they are custom-made to exactly match your teeth.

  • Removable and Safe

No matter what kind of activity you or your child are in. These aligners are not moving, unless you manually do it. During sports, there is no danger of getting hurt with metallic brackets. Them being removable makes them pretty comfortable.

  • Time Saver

With Invisalign you will not have to invest too much time since visits only take place every six weeks. Visits are more frequent with other types or orthodontic pieces, making them much more frequent.

  • No Diet Restriction

You do not need to make changes to your diet at all. Next time you go to that party, you will not need to segregate hard or chewy food. All goes in! Just make sure you remove them before you eat.

  • Better Oral Hygiene

One of the concerns with braces, specifically, is that food can get trapped in the brackets and plaque may form around the spot where they are glued to the tooth. Very special cleaning care is needed. Not a problem with Invisalign.

Am I a Candidate for Invisalign? |

Invisalign is very effective at mild orthodontic cases. These include overbite, underbite, crowding, and spacing. More severe cases cannot be treated with Invisalign at the moment. Visit us here at Scottsdale Dental Care and we will talk about which is the best way to go for you.
